Summary:
The paper analyzes the current situation of teaching geometry in high schools in the direction of developing mathematical modeling competencies for students at high schools in the Southeastern and Central Highlands provinces of Vietnam. Through the investigation and research, the results shows the fact that teaching geometry based on the competenceoriented approach has not been paid much attention. Therefore, there should be measures to help teachers and students practice and develop mathematical modeling competencies in high schools.
