COMPARING ENGLISH SUBJECT AT LOWER SECONDARY LEVEL IN RUSSIA AND VIETNAM

Towards learners’ competence development is a trend that all subjects must follow in process of building and development curriculum, including English subject in General education curriculum. In Vietnam, this is a pioneer subject in compiling and building curriculum towards the above direction, with focus goal is to develop learners’ communicative competence in foreign languages. The article compared English subject at lower secondary level in Russia and Vietnam so as to find out similarities and differences, thereby gave recommendations to further improve the English subject at lower secondary and develop students' competence.
