Summary:
The question banks play an important role in evaluating the training quality in terms of the trainee's knowledge, skills and attitudes as well as in assessing the candidate’s competencies in an exam. To assess correctly the candidate’s competencies, quality question bank is an indispensable component. Based on the analysis of the interests of the question bank, the challenges to the question bank, the article examines some methods of question sizing, ways of developing and implementing methods to assess the adaptation abilities through a question bank in which the items have been sized to assess and categorize candidates' competencies in examinations. In particular, the method of question sizing determines the quality of question banks while the method of assessing adaptive ability is to optimize the time and organization of the assessment, but still ensure the classification of candidates’ competencies. Through the above approach, universities can apply in the assessment of candidates’ competencies in examinations.
