IDENTIFYING THE CORE CONTENT IN BIOLOGY TEACHING

Summary: 
Identifying the core content in teaching and Biology teaching in particular plays an important role in supporting learners’ skill development.Core knowledge in Biology teaching was composed of four basic contents: the basic rules, system,features and the basic organization levels of biology world. The article introduces process to define the core content in Biology teaching towards systems and structure – function approaches with specific examples. In particular, in order to identify the core content, learners need to clarify features, structure and rules of biology world: typical signals, biological rules; system of biology objects; and organization levels of biology world.
