SURVEYING THE CURRENT STATUS OF EDUCATION MANAGERS’ PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE IN THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINOUS PROVINCES

Summary:

This paper presents the research findings on the current status of principals at high schools in the Northern mountainous provinces. A survey of eight aspects in professional competence was carried out: (1) Competence of Management and Self-Development; (2) Competence of setting up, operating school's apparatus and school operation mechanism; (3) Competence of staff development; (4) Competence of developing the educational plan of school; (5) Competence of assuring quality of school educational products; (6) Competence of managing financial resources and assets of school; (7) Competence of mobilizing financial resources and assets for school development; (8) Competence of building and implementing school development strategy. Since then, the author has made some suggestions to improve the professional competence of education staff in the Northern mountainous provinces
