APPLYING PROBLEM-SOLVING APPROACH INTO TEACHING TOWARDS PISA IN PHYSICS TEACHING AT HIGH SCHOOLS

Summary: 
PISA (The Programme for International Student Assessment) was used to survey competencies of Literacy, Mathematics and Science of students aged 15, with the aim to test their preparation to meet future challenges after compulsory education. After two PISA seasons in 2012 and 2015, in spite of high ranking, Vietnamese students still faced many difficulties in Science. Physics is a subject with many practical applications, whereby Physics teaching plays an important role in developing students’ thinking and problem-solving competences. The article addresses the application of problem-solving into teaching towards PISA in Physics teaching at high schools. According to the author, in order to organize this teaching method, teachers have to search and create teaching contents, especially practical situations associated with contents, knowledge need to be taught with social issues, organize diverse and rich activities, comprehensive implementation of renewing teaching methods and ways to check and evaluate.
