Summary:
The article refers to the status of participating in the online world of students at Hue University. The research sample was 706 students from 4 university members of Hue University: Hue University of Education, Hue University of Sciences, University of Foreign Languages and Hue College of Economics. A questionnaire was designed to investigate with four issues: (1) Ratio and means of joining the online world; (2) Level of participation in the online world; (3) Places to join the online world; (4) Purpose of joining the online world. The results showed that most students participated in the online world (98.3%); The most common means of accessing the online world were mobile devices; Level and length of student online participation were relative high; Places to participate in the online world were mainly at home / motel; The main purpose of joining the online world was to "interact online via social networks (Facebook, Zalo ...), see posts / write / like, comment, send / receive message..." and "listen to music, download music online ". These research results contributed to open a new direction for research on activities in the online world of students in the information technology era.
