Summary:
By the end of 20th century, online teaching has attracted lots of attention in research and deployment on a global scale. In Vietnam, along with technology application policies in teaching, the variety of data transmission platforms, and social networks, the online teaching programs has emerged more and more. Online education offers a number of advantages, including that students can easily access documents stored on the Internet; the support of technology makes it easy to differentiate and programize, creating conditions for learners to self-study and activestudy. In the current context of the digital age, globalization, and especially the complicated evolution of the epidemic, online teaching is required to be a teaching and learning method for everyone. The Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training has also officially endorsed the online teaching in schools. However, the quality of online teaching courses is still an unanswered issue, when in fact many online teaching programs have not had quality control nor an official assurance requirement that should be enforced. We have initially conducted an empirical research on the content of several online teaching programs, and compared with pedagogical requirements to find out which requirements should be imposed on the content of online teaching in general education program in the current context. This article will present the findings of research on some theoretical and practical issues about the requirements for online teaching content in the context of educational innovation and adaptation to other social changes to ensure that quality of education.
