Summary:
Along with modern technology, ecosystem metaphors have changed the approach of educational models. In Vietnam, online education has not seen as an effective solution to go along with traditional education to create a sustainable online education ecosystem. By synthesizing and comparing various researches in educational ecosystem model, also by analyzing and evaluating the typical conceptual framework of Bronfenbrenner’s educational ecosystem, and experience from the implementation of online education in Vietnam in recent years, the article examines the structure and factors that create the online education ecosystem, thereby proposes the theoretical model of the online education ecosystem and sufficient conditions to ensure the sustainable development of the online education ecosystem, with the aims of becoming a reliable foundation that gets along with the national education system in Vietnam.
