ONLINE LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IN HIGHER EDUCATION

The development of multimedia technology and information technology as well as the use of the Internet in the trend of the 4.0 revolution are seen as new modern teaching techniques that have fundamentally changed the traditional teaching method. Universities have constantly provided diversified forms of online learning to improve learners’ ability in learning online in a rapidly growing online education market under the impacts of Industry 4.0. This requires higher education management to also have adaptive changes in teaching forms and teaching methods on digital platforms, in order to proactively accept and integrate into the Industry 4.0 era. The application of online learning management system (LMS) in executive management activities at universities is considered as a useful and effective means to strengthen its internal resources and autonomy, contributing to the modernization of education and training. This article provides an overview of the LMS learning management system at the undergraduate level. In the scope of the article, the author introduces the general type of LMS, the popularity of LMS in the world, the current situation of application in Vietnam, and the future development trend of this system. The research results can be used as a basis for universities in Vietnam to consider and decide to apply LMS models in an appropriate and effective way
