Summary: 
Because the 2018 General Education Curriculum aims at developing students’ qualities and competencies, assessment standards are essential to evaluate them. Developing these qualities and competencies in subjects in general and Economics and Law Education subject in particular is crucial to provide teachers, students, and educational managers a "measure" in assessing students’ qualities and competencies. The article has presented the general process for building competence assessment standards, thereby proposing a process for building it in Economics and Law Education subject at the high school level.
