DEVELOPING STUDENTS’ DECOMPOSITION THINKING IN TEACHING INFORMATICS AT THE BASIC EDUCATION STAGE

Summary: 
Computational thinking, which many international educational scientists have researched, has been one of the national educational goals of many countries. In Vietnam, developing computational thinking with a crucial component of students’ decomposition thinking is also shown in the 2018 Informatics Curriculum. This article focuses on analyzing decomposition thinking, clarifying its cognitive psychological basis, and the opportunity to develop it in Informatics subject in the 2018 General Education Curriculum. From there, the article proposes orientations and methods for teaching Informatics to establish students’ decomposition thinking at the basic education stage.
