Summary:

The mother tongue-based Bilingual Education Practices model was closed with the final meeting (December 2015), after three years of preparation (2006-2008) and seven years of experiments (September 2008- May 2015), sponsored by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). This is a great study with a new initiative of approach to educational for ethnic minority children. The basic content of the initiative is using bilingual in education, in which mother tongue is the initial foundation for children to access Vietnamese language and scientific knowledge. The paper analyzes theoretical and practical issues in the mother tongue-based- bilingual practice model. Then, it will be the basis for the next steps of the mother tongue- based- bilingual test program with the test results presented in the next semester.
