Summary:
By reviewing and evaluating research topics withteaching methodology of students in Geography majors at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Pedagogy from 1978 to 2016, the article has clarified the bias of research content and approach in scientific research. More importantly, the author expressed: 1) the need to undertake generalized themes to evaluate trends in geographic studies in the country as well as in other disciplines; 2 / Identify areas of study that remain open; 3 / Update new research methods ... This is a necessary work for geographers in particular and Vietnamese scientists to catch up with new research trends in the world.
