Summary:
The citation index of an academic article which represents the times the article was referred by other studies is one of the indexes used to assess the quality of a study. Although there are different factors influencing the citation index, this article focuses on analyzing the characteristics of titles, abstracts, keywords, tables, appendices and references. Based on the results of quantitative research, recommendations are made for each factor. A lucid title describing a research topic makes an article more easily to be searched. An abstract should be structured within the main information of the research can be independently used from its paper. Keywords should refer to the list of journals and databases classified by fields and topics related to the research contents. Tables, charts and appendices should be more convenient for readers. References should consider the author’s credibility and the number of citations to increase the scientificity of the article. Greater attention to writing the headlines, abstracts, keyword choices, presentation forms and references makes it easier for the article to reach readers so that a higher citation index can be achieved.
