Summary:

Traditional education is an important content that whether advanced or outdated countries also attaches great importance to. In Vietnam, education of traditional ethnic, family and clan values is always paid attention to although the extent to perform it in each historical stage is rather different. Because Vietnamese society is at the intersection period between tradition and modernity through the opening of deeper integration with the world, traditional education has become a social issue attracting the attention of many sociologists, politicians, philosophers, psychologists, and educators, etc. The article presents an exploration of traditional education in the pedagogic perspective with the hope to be able to suggest further researches by Vietnamese scholars.
