Summary:
The rapid integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into higher education is reshaping English language teaching by enhancing lesson design, personalizing learning, and improving instructional efficiency. This study investigates the management of AI-supported English teaching at FPT University, Vietnam, through qualitative data from 11 lecturers via semi-structured interviews. Findings indicate widespread use of AI tools which facilitate interactive and personalized teaching activities. Despite these benefits, challenges persist, including inconsistent management practices, limited digital competence among lecturers, and potential misuse of AI by students. Based on these insights, the study proposes practical management strategies: 1) Developing institutional policies and guidelines for AI integration; 2) Providing targeted digital skills training for lecturers; 3) Establishing AI-supported learning resources; 4) Promoting collaborative and interactive learning; 5) Enhancing coordination between faculty and institutional management. These recommendations offer actionable guidance for private universities in Vietnam seeking to optimize AI integration in English language education effectively. Meanwhile, the study also contributes practical insights for educational managers to design policies and implement sustainable, effective models of AI enhanced language teaching in the context of digital transformation.
