Summary:
This study aims to survey and evaluate the current status of teachers’ professional activities towards of professional autonomy at high schools in Hanoi. By using a 5-level Likert scale survey with 643 managers và teachers, the study collected data from public high schools in 16 areas of Hanoi. The results show that the level of professional autonomy of high school teachers in Hanoi is at a fairly good level, with outstanding strengths in teaching and professional development activities. However, there are still certain limitations in participating in school administration, scientific research activities and community activities. Through analyzing the current situation, the study proposes management solutions to increase teachers’ autonomy such as reducing administrative work, increasing training, encouraging innovation in teaching methods and building a school cultural environment to improve the quality of education.
