Summary:
Folk poems are a type of folk literature which is composed mainly for singing, lulling, practicing rituals... In all North - Central - South regions of Vietnam, everywhere there are typical and unique folk songs... Folk poems are closely related to folk songs, including “Quan họ” (typical folk songs of Bac Ninh area). The teaching of folk poems integrated with “Quan ho” at upper secondary schools has a great significance. First, the student’s cultural knowledge is raised with understanding of motherland tradition. Second, students are formed and developed comprehensively in terms of knowledge, morals, abilities, especially the ability to sense folk poems - “Quan họ”. Third, students are discovered and fostered artistic talent timely. In order to realize the above objectives, we propose two basic forms of teaching: to find folk poems in “Quan họ” and to sing “Quan họ” from folk poems. These forms are important in preserving and developing traditional culture in modern society
