THE FOURTH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION AND ROLES, MISSIONS OF UNIVERSITIES OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IN THE COURSE OF TRAINING HIGH QUALITY MANPOWER

Summary: 
The article focuses on analysing: The origin, development and characteristics of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4.0); Roles and missions of universities of science and technology in the course of training high quality manpower in the the context of the development of knowledge-based economy and modern society; On that basis, the author analyzes and evaluates the characteristics and structure of the manpower in different stages of economic and social development of the countries. According to the author, the Fourth Industrial Revolution which is based on the achievements of modern science and technology with the main trend of "digitalization" has been rapidly changing all aspects of economic and social lives of the nations. In that process, the roles and positions of universities in general and of universities of science and technology in particular in training high quality human resources in the field of science and technology are increasingly being promoted to become driving force of the development of the fourth industrial revolution
