THE REAL STATUS OF HOMEROOM TEACHERS’ PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING AT LOWER SECONDARY SCHOOLS

The paper presents the role of the homeroom teacher in psychological counseling for lower secondary students. The research findings showed that the homeroom teacher understood the competency of psychological counseling. They also had positive attitudes, were willing to counsel, and supported students with psychological difficulties. In the article, the author clearly analyzed the need to train these teachers more psychological counseling skills to meet the requirements of education reform today. Then, the quality of students’ comprehensive education could be much improved.
