Summary:
The Industry 4.0 era requires teachers and students to change their traditional ways of teaching and learning. A flipped teaching model, which is no longer strange in Western countries but still quite new in Vietnam, has promoted the role of students from passive to active in learning as well as reduced the limitations in teaching of lecturers. The article examines two issues of the flipped teaching model, namely flipped classroom and flipped teaching method. In the flipped classroom, it is conducted in 3 steps (Step 1: Students receive content online outside of class; Step 2: Learning online in the virtual classroom or traditional classroom; Step 3: Completing exercises on e-learning). For the flipped teaching method, students are encouraged to move from passive to active learning to promote their active and creative roles. The flipped teaching model is applied in teaching theoretical courses at universities, from forming and managing study groups to designing lessons and evaluating students’ learning process. This approach is hoped to be helpful for the teaching practice.
