A COMPETENCY-BASED APPROACH TO DEVELOPING EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION CURRICULUM

Summary: 
Approaching competency in education and in building early childhood education curricula has proven its relevance and practical effectiveness. Preschool children are in the process of accumulating knowledge and skills and forming the right attitude to the world around them, which is also the step-by-step process of forming children’s competencies. The early childhood education curriculum is designed according to the competence approach that supports the development of the necessary competencies for children to learn and participate in life activities effectively. Based on the perspectives of competency-based education, competencybased education curriculum, and the characteristics of preschool children’s competence development, the article proposes an early childhood education curriculum according to the competence approach in Vietnam.
