FACTORS AFFECTING THE MANAGEMENT OF ENGLISH TEACHING AT LOWER SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN HANOI TOWARDS DEVELOPING STUDENTS’ COMPETENCE

Summary: 
The trend of globalization, international integration and the Industrial Revolution 4.0 requires people to use English as a tool and means of daily communication. This trend leads to an increasingly important role of English teaching management. Accordingly, determining the factors affecting its management is extremely necessary to improve its managerial effectiveness. The article aims to find out the current situation of factors affecting management of teaching English at the lower secondary schools in Hanoi city towards developing students’ competence in the context of educational innovation. Both qualitative and quantitative methods were used to collect data through a survey of 144 managers and 180 teachers in public secondary schools in Hanoi, in 4 urban districts and 3 suburb districts. The research findings have shown 11 factors affecting English teaching management with different impact levels and directions.
