DEVELOPING AND TRAINING TEACHERS AND MANAGERS TO MEET REQUIREMENTS OF THE FUNDAMENTAL AND COMPREHENSIVE RENEWAL OF GENERAL EDUCATION

Summary: 
Starting from the role and importance of teachers and managers in the fundamental and comprehensive renewal of education, and completing goals of economic development strategy in period 2011 - 2020 of the XI Vietnamese Communist Party Assembly, the article focused on the status analysis of quantity, quality and capacity of teachers’ training colleges; situation of teachers’ quantity, quality and capacity and training, retraining of teachers and managers at general education level. Then, the authors suggested tasks and specific measures to meet new requirements, overcome the existing shortcomings in order to reach the target: by 2020, to ensure general teachers and managers are sufficient quantity, uniform structure, professional standard, in accordance with planning teaching staff, managers at general education level in each locality; and by 2025, the teaching staff and managers will be standardized equally to other foreign advanced countries
