PEDAGOGICAL COMPETENCIES OF SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHERS

Summary: 
The article deals with the pedagogical capacity, the pedagogical competence framework of secondary school teachers, including six competency groups with 40 criteria. The article also examines and evaluates the current status of pedagogical capacity of secondary school teachers. The results of the survey showed that pedagogical capacities of the surveyed teachers were at an average level in all six component competencies. While some of the pedagogical competencies were relatively high, the capacity of demonstrating the educational role, core competencies, the capacity of designing and counseling for student personality development found low. Pedagogical capacities of secondary school teachers are strongly influenced by the following factors: self-efficacy; Experience gained in the process of teaching and educating students; Organization of professional activities, school policies, education sector’s policies; Emulation movements in teaching and learning; Collaboration from students, parents and the community; Facilities, treatment and remuneration for teachers.
