THE OPPORTUNITIES, CHALLENGES AND ORIENTING SOLUTION TO DEVELOP GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES

Summary: 
Global Citizen (GC) and Global Citizenship Education (GCEd) are trends in the world and in all countries, especially in developing countries. In general, GCEd aims to equip learners with values, skills, attitudes, and behaviors to become GC who are creative, innovative and committed to peace, human rights and sustainable development. This article presents and analyzes the basic characteristics of GC and GCEd to determine the requirements for reforming education as a prerequisite for analyzing opportunities (Sharing knowledge, skills and wisdom; prospering positive cooperative values; developing multicultures…), challenges and orienting solution (relating to philosophy, vision, educational mission, curriculum and organizing education; teacher capacity; values and responsibilities of stakehoders; information and communication technology infrastructure; teaching and learning methods; participation of learners; assessment and evaluation…) to develop GCEd in developing countries.
