Summary:
This article presents the significant findings from a survey on educating deaf people in Nam Dinh province, including: structure and proportion of the deaf; their living status; current status of education, support and intervention status; characteristics of the deal adults, and their supporting needs; and awareness on policies for people with disabilities. The survey results play an essential role in offering recommendations to the authorities, education sectors, and civil organizations with the aim of improving the educational and life quality for the deaf in Nam Dinh in particular and the deaf’ community in Vietnam in general.
