Summary:
The problem of stuttering exists as an ‘iceberg’ in each individual, where the “floating part” manifests only in repetition, prolongation, or obstruction in pronunciation while the “underground’ is the difficult part to identify. Therefore, researchers and interventionists/ therapists are currently interested in how to overcome this difficulty in both the “float” and the “underground”. There are many measures that can be applied in intervention for children with stuttering, in which the use of music is an appropriate intervention for children’s behavior and psychology. The article presents the method of using music in therapy for children with stuttering and provides some empirical results on the impact of this measure in stuttering intervention for a young child.
