Summary: 
A review of current research and practice in Vietnam shows that the interventional content and practice for children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are primarily implemented in the special intervention agencies without a formal monitoring system. The quality of intervention has been reported to be not the same at these agencies. Therefore, this study has synthesized and analyzed 15 studies and scientific reports in the world on the criteria and strategies to choose appropriate interventions for children with autism spectrum disorder. The results were classified into two groups of two different subjects, professionals and parents/caregivers. Finally, a basic list to assist individuals involved in the intervention process for children to refer to and choose appropriate interventions has been proposed based on information from previous studies in the world as well as clinical practice experience of this research group. The list includes three main contents: evidence-based interventions, the content of the overall intervention plan, and the process of intervention practice.
