Summary: 
On the basis of an overview on sign language, the role of sign language in the process of knowledge acquisition and communication of the deaf children as well as conditions for early sign language development for the deaf children, sign language is considered as the mother tongue, the first language of the deaf people, and the most suitable language means for the deaf people to communicate and learn effectively. If the deaf children are provided with early access to sign language in different communication and learning environments, they will have the opportunity to fully receive input language, which will promote their language development, ability active and effective learning, and enhance the opportunity to integrate into the community
