Summary: 
Innovating teaching methods not only aims to change the one-way teaching method which makes students passive in learning, but also pay attention to the teaching activities to develop students’ competence. Teachers need to transform the educational process from content-based teaching to competencebased teaching and learning. This article identifies the manifestations of primary school students’ competence in solving Mathematics problems about number sequences. From there, the teaching process is proposed to develop the Mathematics problem-solving competence of primary school students through teaching the content of number sequences. We hope that the article will contribute to the perception of readers in general, and teachers of Mathematics teaching in primary schools in particular in the process of developing students’ Math-solving competence in the reform period.
