Summary:
In the recent decades, the international teaching and learning tendency has mostly transferred from content-based teaching and learning to competency-based teaching and learning. The new general education curriculum in Vietnam has been developed based on the model of approaching competency. Therefore, in order to implement effectively the new curriculum, it is necessary for teachers to gain some specific understandings of approaching competency, and know how to design lesson plans for approaching competency. This paper mentions about mathematical competencies as well as some features of competency-based teaching of maths, then proposes lesson plans and execution steps for designing mathematics lesson plan based on competence approaching at primary schools.
