Summary:
Developing digital competencies is crucial in teacher training at higher education institutions to meet the demands of digital transformation in education today. However, there is a lack of comprehensive research evaluating methods for developing digital competencies among university students majoring in primary education. This study employs the PRISMA process to search for and analyze 34 publications on methods for developing digital competencies, sourced from Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, spanning the years 2014 to 2024. Through textual analysis and synthesis, the research identifies four main approaches to developing digital competencies for university students in primary education and proposes future research directions. The findings of this study provide a valuable resource for researchers and higher education institutions, offering guidance on effectively training and enhancing digital competencies among university students in general and particularly for those specializing in primary education.
