ORIENTATION FOR DEVELOPING ASSESSMENT STANDARDS OF PUPILS’ COMPETENCE AND QUALITY IN VIETNAMESE SUBJECT IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS

The 2018 General Education Curriculum was built toward a competence approach. The curriculum identified general and specific competencies and qualities that need to be formed and developed for students. Although specific regulations on their achieved requirements at each education level, each subject, and educational activity were defined, there is still insufficient proof and evidence to determine the requirements. It is necessary to base on the goals and requirements for the competencies and qualities stated in the curriculum to develop assessment standards and facilitate teachers in designing assessment tools for reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Based on the assessment results, it is possible to determine the qualities and abilities of each student; then, an appropriate support plan will be made to ensure students’ progress improvement and contribute to improving the education quality in each school.
