Summary: 
In response to the need to develop local human resources as well as other demands of modern life, every person living in the current society needs the competences and the quality of 21st century citizens. With the strong development of science and technology, the formation and development of 21st century skills has become an important requirement of modern human personality. However, the 21st century skills education for lower secondary school students in disadvantaged areas is recently concerned in educating some life skills to help them initially integrate with life. In the context of international integration and current market economy, it is necessary to further strengthen the solutions to 21st century skills education for lower secondary school students in the disadvantaged areas. The paper presents the orientation of the 21st century skills education goals for lower secondary school students in the disadvantaged areas, and on that basis proposes the system of necessary skills in the 21st century as well as the educating methods through integrated teaching and experiential activities
