DESIGNING TOOLS FOR ASSESSING STUDENTS’ COMPETENCE IN CHEMISTRY PRACTICE AT HIGH SCHOOLS

Summary: 
Competence in chemistry practice is one of key competencies that help students increase their confidence in science, develop students’ thinking and this is only means to help them shape experimental skills/ technique and technical thinking. The article identified issues about the scientific base, the orientation to develop a set of tools for assessing the students’ competence in chemistry practice in chemistry teaching and the initial experimental results through teaching Oxygen -Sulfur chapter, Chemistry grade 10. Then the author proposed standards of competence in chemistry practice with criteria and explicit levels, help teachers and students have tools for assessing this students’ competence in chemistry teaching at high schools.
