Summary:
At the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2018, the Country Readiness Project in collaboration with A.T. Kearney developed and published the Readiness Diagnostic Model Framework consisting of two components: Structure of Production and Drivers of Production. The first component has two elements as Complexity and Scale, and the later includes six main drivers of production as Technology and Innovation, Human Capital, Global Trade and Investment, Institutional Framework, Demand Environment, and Sustainable Resources. To be able to assess the readiness for Industry 4.0, each element is concretized into 59 indicators that can represent a nation’s readiness for the future. The project analyzes the mentioned elements of 75 countries and divides them into four groups: Leading, High Potential, Legacy and Nascent. Vietnam is classified as the Nascent group. In order to contribute to improving the readiness for the Industry 4.0 of Vietnam, the author proposes to include 12/59 indicators in the set of indicators to assess the development of local education, demonstrating the management capacity of local level education, capacity to implement education at the grassroots level, outcomes, local conditions, and sustainable development.
