Summary:
The period 1986-2000 marked a historic transformation in Vietnamese education, in which the socialization of education emerged as a breakthrough policy and a vital solution. This paper focuses on the issue of education socialization during the first 15 years of renovation, from its genesis and institutionalization to its implementation and multifaceted impacts. Using historical and logical methods, based on an analysis of Party documents, State policies, and educational review materials, the paper shown that the socialization of education was an inevitable policy that successfully mobilized social resources to recover from crisis, expanded its scale, and diversified educational models. However, this process also raised significant challenges regarding social equity and the risk of commercialization, and necessitated reform of the State management role. The lessons learned from this period remain highly relevant to current educational policy planning.
