THE PROCESS OF UNIFYING VIETNAM’S NATIONAL EDUCATION SYSTEM IN THE PERIOD OF 1975 - 1978: FROM POLICY TO PRACTICAL TRANSFORMATION

This article analyzes the process of unifying Vietnam’s national education system during the period of 1975-1978. The study aims to argue that this was not just an administrative task but a strategic political mission-an ideological and cultural front to eliminate the remnants of division and set a foundation for a new generation of citizens in a unified Vietnam. By using historical document analysis on directive documents of the Communist Party and comparing them with practical implementation, the article clarifies the specific steps and historical significance of this process. The research findings show that the educational unification process in Vietnam from 1975 to 1978 was, in essence, an ideological revolution. Its success affirmed the strategic role of education in establishing ideological consensus and creating an important prerequisite for the subsequent renovation period.
