Summary:
The study analyzes trends and the current status of scientific research publications in Vietnam from 2001 to 2025 by applying bibliometric method to 1,005 articles published in SCOPUS-indexed educational journals. The results show that research activities began to grow in 2016 and increased rapidly from 2020. Between 2020 and 2025, most articles were published in Q1 and Q2 journals. Australia is the country that cooperates most closely with Vietnam among 46 countries worldwide. Most of Vietnam’s scientific research in education is conducted by Vietnamese authors, with the greatest contributions from Vietnam National University, Hanoi and Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City. Vietnam’s educational science research groups and topics have captured global research trends, and at the same time, research issues specific to Vietnamese education and training have also received attention. Higher education and general education are the two sectors with the fastest growth. These findings help policymakers and educational managers develop and propose sector development strategies and research directions in the future.
