THE CURRENT STATE OF SURVIVAL SKILLS EDUCATION FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN HANOI

Summary: 
The education of life skills, especially survival skills needed in dangerous situations for primary school students in Hanoi, has received attention. Survival skills education would help students acquire the necessary knowledge as well as form their capacities to solve problems that arise in their lives. In Hanoi’s primary schools, survival skills education is organized through different forms and methods, integrated into lessons, subjects or experiential activities. Those types of education have achieved certain results, however, the reality shows that there are still shortcomings in terms of program contents, teaching methods and forms of organization, assurance conditions, and forces participating in education. The article analyzes the necessity and assesses the current state of survival skills education for primary students in Hanoi, thereby proposing solutions to improve the effectiveness of these activities.
