USING A PARTICIPATORY APPROACH TO FOSTER INDEPENDENCE AMONG 3-4-YEAR-OLD PRESCHOOLERS

Summary: 
This study focuses on fostering self-reliance in children aged 3-4 years through a participatory approach, which encourages them to voice their opinions, make decisions, and take responsibility for their actions. The objective is to develop their adaptability and life skills. The education for children’s independence is designed to be integrated seamlessly into various activities at preschool, promoting their active engagement and enhancing their essential competencies for better adaptability in life. However, the current level of children’s independence remains relatively low due to limited attention to this approach. To address this issue, the study proposes several measures, including empowering children to perform tasks independently, enhancing their ability to identify specific responsibilities, encouraging self-assessment of their work, and nurturing selfconfidence in them. By implementing these strategies, we aim to effectively elevate the expression level of children’s independence.
