Summary:
Basing on a survey of 800 pupils and students in Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, Nghe An and Can Tho provinces in 2016, the paper mentions pupils and students' perceptions of shortcomings in current education and learning. In general, some issues of concern were: biased education objective at school; renewal of the training program and forms of examination were inadequate; methods of education were without theory and practice linkage, did not encourage the ability of students’ thinking and creativity; Teachers’ quality was limited in terms of knowledge and teaching methods.
