GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION IN TEACHING CIVIC EDUCATION SUBJECT AT LOWER SECONDARY SCHOOLS (UNDER THE NEW GENERAL EDUCATION CURRICULUM)

In the growing trend of globalization, global citizenship education is increasingly becoming the concern of many countries including Vietnam with the aims of training the young generation to be qualified citizens meeting the requirements of society and international integration. The global citizenship education is to contribute to the achievement of the expected educational goal comprehensively. The article presents the objective of the global citizenship education in Vietnam, identifies schools in which global citizenship education is implemented in teaching in teaching Civic Education subject at lower secondary school level, then suggests orientations for methods, organizational forms of teaching as well as evaluation on the global citizenship education outcomes.
