Summary:

Designing learning activities (planning lessons) is one of the important tasks of teachers at all levels. In order to provide more references for Vietnamese teachers, the article introduces the experience of the Centre for Teaching Excellence (Singapore Management University) and clearly outlines the concept of the lesson plans, the process of building and implement a lesson plan. This is a methodical, scientific and modern approach that Vietnamese teachers can apply in teaching in the direction of developing learners’ competence in the current context.
