EVALUATION OF LECTURERS’ SATISFACTION IN TEACHING AND RESEARCHING AT VIETNAM NATIONAL UNIVERSITY, HANOI

Summary: 
Using factor analysis, this research identified the five factors affecting  the lecturers’ satisfaction in teaching and researching at Vietnam National  University, Hanoi, which are 1) Income, 2) Management, 3) Relationships with  colleagues, 4) Working environment, 5) Job characteristics. These factors  have different levels of impacts on the lecturers’ satisfaction in teaching and  researching. To be more specific, job characteristics and relationships with  colleagues have the strongest influence on their satisfaction, while income  has the least. Regression analysis showed that 86.6% of the lecturers were  satisfied due to the above factors. Based on this research findings, it is  recommended that the Vietnam National University, Hanoi needs to issue and  implement proper policies and supports so that lecturers can continuously  work for higher income and maintain good working environment.
