EFL STUDENTS’ PERCEIVED IMPACTS OF ONLINE TEACHING DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC ON STUDENTS’ ENGLISH LEARNING PROCESS AT VINH UNIVERSITY

Summary: 
The study aims at investigating EFL students’ perceptions of the impacts of English online teaching on their learning process as well as the expectations that are placed upon this learning method. 171 non- English majored students involved in this study. The data were collected from a questionnaire and follow-up interviews through Zoom and Microsoft Team. The results showed that the online teaching brought both benefits and challenges to EFL students. The participants also claimed the limited interactions between teachers and students, students and students in these classes. From their own experiences, many expectations were declared with a hope of improving the convenience for their learning process. The study then suggests a number of pedagogical solutions in order to enhance the quality of the online English teaching - learning process in tertiary contexts in Vietnam.
