Summary:
In recent years, the topic of scientific output in developing countries has particularly attracted the attention of scholars worldwide. On the one hand, this issue helps to re-evaluate inequalities in knowledge production across regions of the world. On the other hand, developing countries are actively promoting the process of scientific publication as a way to catch up with the powerful countries. By analyzing the number and patterns of research by an institution or at a national scale, we can examine the state of science development, the context of scientific resource allocation, the scientific policy as well as the way to form academic discourses in that region. This study will focus on analyzing the selection of scientific publication sources and highlight impactful publications in educational science from Vietnam between 1991 - 2019, based on bibliometric analysis and SCOPUS database. The findings are expected to act as a starting point for longitudinal studies in the future.
