Summary:
Fostering computational thinking is a research topic that has not been widely disseminated in the trend of renewing Mathematics teaching methods at the high school level in the 2018 General Education Curriculum. Computational thinking becomes a crucial and necessary competency in the current context because it cultivates the ability to analyze, evaluate, and devise solutions to the challenges encountered in daily life. In this paper, we will clarify the concept of computational thinking and its main elements and propose several situations in teaching number sequences so as to enhance students’ computational thinking. The article aims to provide a perspective on how computational thinking can be applied in Math teaching towards developing students’ competency, thereby contributing to renewing Mathematics teaching methods at the high school level.
